Hi Fashionista! Valentino has its Resort 2025 Collection by the Alessandro Michiele. And there are Many question people are having the way collection look.Acoording to many people Alessandro Michiele is Guccifying the Valentino.
But people are forgetting that Gucci was Alessandro Michiele, not the other way around. And now with Alessandro’s first collection showing for Valentino, the resort collection, so many people are saying that this is the Guccification of Valentino, and that this is a departure from what Valentino really stands for.
But you tell me, what exactly does Valentino stand for? Is it minimalism? No. Is it maximalism? Also no. Is it bohemian? Definitely not, because Valentino has never had a consistent visual identity. I hate to break it to you, they stand for romance. From the very beginning, the house’s codes have been built on romance. And that’s come in many different visual forms throughout the decades, with different perspectives coming in from Valentino Garavani himself, Maria Grazia, Pier Paolo Michiele, and now Alessandro.
I’ve been to the Valentino archives and looked at pieces throughout their entire history. All the way back to the beginning, Valentino in the 60s and 70s excelled at this sense of romance. We all know Alessandro loves to reference those decades. The prints, the patterns, the composition, the silhouettes, the textures. But when appointing Alessandro to this position as creative director of Valentino, it wasn’t about bringing in somebody to adhere to a visual identity. It was about bringing in perhaps one of the most romantic designers of our generation.
Someone who completely redefined Gucci’s entire existence. Someone who inspired a whole generation of creatives, brought a whole new audience into the fashion world, and also increased Gucci’s sales by like tenfold. They brought in a sense of romance unique to Alessandro Michiele.
On the other hand, the Valentino Resort 2025 is a Unique but still the same old Valentino we used to love. I am very excited to see the new road Valentino is going to take. I bet it will fun and a joyful ride. Under the reign of Alessandro Michiele we expect nothing less then perfection from valentino
