Thom Browne Fall 2024 Couture: Olympic Champion

Thom Browne | Haute Couture Fall Winter 2024/2025 | Full Show

This is the definition of haute couture. Listen, she’s gorgeous, she’s golden, she’s grandiose, and this is from Thom Browne’s Most Reasonable Couture Show. There were 49 looks in the collection each and every one has a unique but the same Thom Browne touch. Thom was inspired by the toile, which is a muslin garment that is imperative to the process of haute couture.

Think of the toile as a blueprint that can be changed as time goes on to fit couture client-specific needs. But the toile eventually will become the basis of a beautiful, stunning, and gorgeous garment like the one we just saw. So Thom did dabble in these muslin styles.

That’s why a lot of the collection is this sort of creamy white. But he used these toile fabrics to show the intricate techniques of haute couture, like pleating, as well as drapery, and tailoring, just to name a few. I also love this nod to toile being an undergarment the same way that a bra and underwear can be.

And then Thom Browne took three models, dressed them almost identical, and gave them three different blazers to wear. Bronze, silver, and gold.He also gave them a podium, and they took their deserving spots. It’s the simplicity of it that wins my heart. Now that is how you reference the Olympics in a couture way, and also a very Thom Browne way. Thom just showed up and showed out with this beautiful muscle-embroidered gown, this insanely layered multi-muslin style, and this insanely beautiful floral bouquet that closed out the collection. Tom is winning gold at the fashion olympics.
